NEYE chooses Matriks as Business Central advisor

NEYE is a Danish retail chain and market leader in bags, backpacks, suitcases and accessories, with stores across Denmark and in Sweden as well as webshops. The company was founded by Johannes Neye in Copenhagen in 1881 and is today foundation-owned – the NEYE Foundation donates its profits to cancer research in Denmark.

An ERP implementation requires a strong voice on the customer’s side:

NEYE is implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the foundation for its processes across sales, inventory, finance and customer service. The solution itself is delivered by an implementation partner, while Matriks is engaged as NEYE’s independent project manager and advisor.

Matriks has been involved from the very beginning – from the contract negotiations with the vendor to a critical review and challenge of the vendor’s project plan. The aim is to ensure that NEYE gets a solution that fits the business, and that the project is managed with NEYE’s interests in mind.

“An ERP project of this size affects our entire business – from the stores and the webshop to inventory and finance. It has been crucial for us to have an independent partner on our side who knows Business Central inside out, asks the right questions and makes sure that our needs are at the centre. With Matriks, we feel confident in the dialogue with the vendor and in the decisions we make along the way.” says Kenneth Neumann Sand, CFO, NEYE A/S.

Some of the tasks Matriks works on:

  • Project management and governance – Matriks handles project management on NEYE’s side and ensures that plan, resources and decisions are aligned with the needs of the business.
  • Contract and project plan – Matriks supported NEYE in the contract negotiations and continuously challenges the vendor’s project plan to keep it realistic and comprehensive.
  • Process clarification – Together with the key users, Matriks translates the needs of the business into concrete and practical processes in Business Central.
  • Testing and quality assurance – Matriks plans and coordinates end-to-end testing, builds the test basis and structures test scenarios across sales, inventory, finance, customer service and integrations.
  • Support for key users – Matriks supports the users throughout testing and ensures that errors, questions and clarifications are handled quickly and efficiently.
  • Documentation – Processes, roles and responsibilities are documented, giving NEYE a complete overview of the quality and maturity of the solution.

Overview through structured testing:

Matriks plays a central role in the testing phase. By gathering the test basis, test scenarios and process documentation in one place, NEYE gets a complete picture of how the solution works across the entire business – not just in the individual modules.

This provides a solid basis for decisions and ensures that both the business and the vendor work from the same understanding of what needs to work and what is missing.

The link between business and technology:

Matriks acts as the link between NEYE’s organisation, the internal key users and the technical delivery. The focus is on creating transparency around processes, roles, responsibilities and decisions.

When the dialogue between customer and vendor is clear and structured, the solution becomes better anchored in the organisation – and NEYE is in a stronger position for the decisions that need to be made along the way.

“Matriks creates structure and overview in a complex project. They pull together the threads between our key users and the technical delivery, and their work on testing and documentation gives us a clear picture of the quality of the solution. This means that we can make decisions on a solid basis and feel well equipped to continue running the business on Business Central.” continues Kenneth Neumann Sand.
