Tell us about yourself
I grew up in a commune in Odense. After high school, I was torn between psychology, law, physics and IT. The choice fell on the latter, and after a few years with my hands deep in technology, I became a consultant in 2010, which I have since been as both self-employed and part of consultancies.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a deep passion for the good things in life and spend a lot of energy on gastronomic experiences, including collecting champagne. I'm also interested in the latest technological advances, especially in novel intelligences. I stay in shape playing squash, where I try to get a few hours in every week.
What do you work on at Matriks?
Besides spreading the joy of champagne, as a consultant I help people connect their challenges with solutions. Often this means getting in touch with technology when configuring an environment, modeling financial data for reporting, designing a new system or something else entirely.
What difference do you make for the customers?
From making everyday life easier to making the impossible possible, my honest and agnostic approach gives my clients the confidence that what is said is what is done.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
Making a positive difference in another person's life is the greatest thing we humans can aspire to. As a consultant, that opportunity presents itself every single day in very tangible form. The work brings meaning into an otherwise arbitrary world.
How is life at Matriks?
As a Matriceur, you are free to shape your everyday life as you need to, while taking responsibility for the satisfactory completion of the task.
In a company built and run by friends, you as an employee connect with friends rather than colleagues, and with concepts like the Friday lunch champagne in the office and a healthy level of social activities outside of the office to boot, it's hard to recall the benefits of being self-employed.
Meet Emil
Tell us about yourself
My name is Emil, I was born and raised in Himmelev just outside Roskilde, and I have been living in Copenhagen since late 2020. I am currently in my second semester at Copenhagen Business Academy, where I am studying IT Architecture.
What do you do in your free time?
Most of my free time actually goes into my studies, as there are almost always a couple of projects running that require attention. But besides that, I play football twice a week in a club in Frederiksberg, spend time with friends, family, girlfriend, and dog, and lift some weights when there's time for it now and then.
What do you work on at Matriks?
Mainly, I assist Hans Ole, Casper, and Frederik with various ad-hoc tasks and inquiries from customers, so they can be relieved and focus their attention elsewhere. In the longer term, due to my ongoing education, I would also like to be able to help with various BC and automation coding tasks.
What difference do you make for the customers?
The point is that when an existing customer has a minor question or challenge regarding BC, or anything else IT-related for that matter, the response time is shorter because there are a few extra hands on deck. So I also hope that's the experience customers receive.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
To me, it means contributing positively to the world around me. Realistically, it's not so much about major global changes, that probably lies more in the future, but the small everyday actions that can make a difference to others, whether it's a stranger in the supermarket or one of our customers at Matriks.
How is life at Matriks?
Right from the start, I have felt very welcome and have been received with open arms, which has made it very easy to settle in. The atmosphere is very relaxed, so it doesn't actually feel like I'm talking to my bosses every day; it's more like being surrounded by mentors who are willing to share their knowledge with me, which I really appreciate. Additionally, it's also nice that the tone is so relaxed while still maintaining high efficiency.
Meet Frederik
Tell us about yourself
I'm 30 years old and born and raised in Copenhagen. After finishing high school, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do, so I spent a couple of years just figuring things out. During this time, I got a job at a warehouse where I worked for about 4 years. I started with picking, then moved to shipping, and finally receiving, and it was during this time that I first became interested in logistics and processes.
When I got the opportunity to spend a couple of years abroad, I took it. It ended up being 2 years in Singapore, where I lived with my father, who worked in IT and finance. I absorbed all of this, and quickly realized that I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps.
Fast forward to today. I've been working with Business Central for almost 1.5 years now, and I'm halfway through a 2-year education as a logistics economist, which is a supply chain program where we're taught logistics, procurement, distribution, law, organization, and finance, among other things.
What do you do in your free time?
Between school and work, there isn't much free time, but the little I have, I spend it with friends, family, and playing some computer games.
What do you work on at Matriks?
I assist in BC implementation projects, provide general support, and handle various setups.
What drives me is getting to know our clients and their businesses by participating in workshops, providing training, and generally being out at our clients' sites, where I can see the impact of my work.
What difference do you make for the customers?
What I can offer to the customers is a combination of practical experience from warehouse and production, and a good understanding of the entire value chain, which I can translate into the processes in Business Central. Additionally, due to my education, I can provide input that extends beyond the system.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
As a logistics person, adding value is paramount to me, so if I can make a difference for my customers in this way, then I am quite satisfied.
How is life at Matriks?
