Interviews with coworkers:
Meet Rune
Tell us about yourself
I grew up in a commune in Odense. After high school, I was torn between psychology, law, physics and IT. The choice fell on the latter, and after a few years with my hands deep in technology, I became a consultant in 2010, which I have since been as both self-employed and part of consultancies.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a deep passion for the good things in life and spend a lot of energy on gastronomic experiences, including collecting champagne. I'm also interested in the latest technological advances, especially in novel intelligences. I stay in shape playing squash, where I try to get a few hours in every week.
What do you work on at Matriks?
Besides spreading the joy of champagne, as a consultant I help people connect their challenges with solutions. Often this means getting in touch with technology when configuring an environment, modeling financial data for reporting, designing a new system or something else entirely.
What difference do you make for the customers?
From making everyday life easier to making the impossible possible, my honest and agnostic approach gives my clients the confidence that what is said is what is done.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
Making a positive difference in another person's life is the greatest thing we humans can aspire to. As a consultant, that opportunity presents itself every single day in very tangible form. The work brings meaning into an otherwise arbitrary world.
How is life at Matriks?
As a Matriceur, you are free to shape your everyday life as you need to, while taking responsibility for the satisfactory completion of the task.
In a company built and run by friends, you as an employee connect with friends rather than colleagues, and with concepts like the Friday lunch champagne in the office and a healthy level of social activities outside of the office to boot, it's hard to recall the benefits of being self-employed.
Meet Emil
Tell us about yourself
My name is Emil, I was born and raised in Himmelev just outside Roskilde, and I have been living in Copenhagen since late 2020. I am currently in my second semester at Copenhagen Business Academy, where I am studying IT Architecture.
What do you do in your free time?
Most of my free time actually goes into my studies, as there are almost always a couple of projects running that require attention. But besides that, I play football twice a week in a club in Frederiksberg, spend time with friends, family, girlfriend, and dog, and lift some weights when there's time for it now and then.
What do you work on at Matriks?
Mainly, I assist Hans Ole, Casper, and Frederik with various ad-hoc tasks and inquiries from customers, so they can be relieved and focus their attention elsewhere. In the longer term, due to my ongoing education, I would also like to be able to help with various BC and automation coding tasks.
What difference do you make for the customers?
The point is that when an existing customer has a minor question or challenge regarding BC, or anything else IT-related for that matter, the response time is shorter because there are a few extra hands on deck. So I also hope that's the experience customers receive.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
To me, it means contributing positively to the world around me. Realistically, it's not so much about major global changes, that probably lies more in the future, but the small everyday actions that can make a difference to others, whether it's a stranger in the supermarket or one of our customers at Matriks.
How is life at Matriks?
Right from the start, I have felt very welcome and have been received with open arms, which has made it very easy to settle in. The atmosphere is very relaxed, so it doesn't actually feel like I'm talking to my bosses every day; it's more like being surrounded by mentors who are willing to share their knowledge with me, which I really appreciate. Additionally, it's also nice that the tone is so relaxed while still maintaining high efficiency.
Meet Gustav
Tell us about yourself
I am a Senior Consultant and Team Lead at Matriks, with an educational background in IT and Economics from DTU. With experience from both Netcompany and Itm8, I have over the years specialized in leading small to medium-sized projects within Finance, Purchasing, Sales, and Production. My approach is characterized by a hybrid role, where I act as both a developer and a business consultant – I love bridging the gap between technical solutions and business needs.
What do you do in your free time?
In my spare time, I enjoy playing computer games, where I can both relax and challenge myself. I also love cooking, as it allows me to try out new dishes and use my creativity in something completely different from the digital world. In addition, I prioritize spending time with family and friends, as social relationships are very important to me. I also enjoy going to concerts, where I get energy from the music and the sense of community.
What do you work on at Matriks?
In my role as Senior Consultant and Team Lead at Matriks, I primarily work with leading projects within Finance, Purchasing, Sales, and Production for our clients. I have specialized in delivering complex integrations between Business Central and external systems, including CRM platforms, as well as carrying out Business Central migrations from older systems such as NAV and C5 to modern cloud solutions. An essential part of my role is team leadership and coordinating development teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and the client’s business needs.
What difference do you make for the customers?
I create value for customers by confidently navigating the intersection between business and technology. I have a strong ability to understand their business needs and translate them into concrete and usable solutions in Business Central. In my work, I focus on carrying out system migrations with as little disruption to operations as possible, while managing projects all the way from planning to go-live and subsequent support. I also work on establishing stable and well-designed integrations that connect Business Central with existing systems, creating a holistic platform. As a sparring partner, I contribute with both technical insight and business understanding, ensuring collaboration, progress, and value for the customer.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
For me, making a difference means that my work has a positive impact on others – whether it’s customers, colleagues, or users. It’s about contributing to something that creates value, development, or improvement, and about being able to see a purpose in what I do. When I can feel that my efforts help others or move things in the right direction, it gives me both motivation and pride in my work.
How is life at Matriks?
At Matriks, everyday work is characterized by collaboration, professional sparring, and a strong sense of community. We work closely together across competencies and projects, and we place great emphasis on open dialogue and mutual respect. There is room for both ambition and personal development, and we support each other in succeeding – both as a team and individually. At the same time, we prioritize an informal work environment with plenty of freedom, everyday humor, and space to enjoy being together.
Meet Frederik
Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Copenhagen, but have lived in various places around Zealand and spent a short period abroad. Through several years of working in both large and small warehouses, I gained a solid understanding of practical warehouse processes, which motivated me to pursue an education in logistics economics. I am driven by finding smarter ways of working, where theory and practice meet, and where well-designed processes create value in everyday operations.
What do you do in your free time?
When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I like exploring new cuisines and cultures, both through travel and by experimenting at home.
What do you work on at Matriks?
At Matriks, I work as a business consultant with a focus on processes in Business Central, particularly within purchasing, inventory, and planning. I help customers optimize their workflows, configure the system correctly, and get the most out of their ERP solution. In addition, I handle a significant amount of training, testing, and project management in collaboration with both developers and super users.
What difference do you make for the customers?
I create value for customers by translating complex systems into something that makes sense in their daily work. My goal is to ensure they get a solution that not only works technically, but also supports their real processes. I focus on creating clarity, confidence, and “aha moments” when we work together to find smarter ways of working.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
I am motivated by seeing that the work I do actually helps someone. When a customer experiences an easier day-to-day or finally understands how a process fits together, it gives a strong sense of value. For me, it’s about making complex things simple and creating results that last.
How is life at Matriks?
Life at Matriks is both professional and informal at the same time. We have a strong sense of camaraderie, where everyone helps each other and can collaborate across projects. The path from idea to action is short, and it is energizing to be part of a team that develops both itself and its customers.
Meet Steffen
Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Hobro, but have since lived in both Aarhus and Copenhagen. After 10 years in marketing, I chose to follow my passion for technology and become a developer. I have studied software development and love traveling the world whenever the opportunity arises.
What do you do in your free time?
In my spare time, I spend a lot of time with my family. I also enjoy being a tourist in my own city and exploring everything from museums to theater performances in Copenhagen. Additionally, I can’t completely let go of technology, so I also work on personal projects in my free time whenever creativity calls.
What do you work on at Matriks?
At Matriks, I work in the Customer Success department, where I help customers with their challenges and needs. My work includes development in Business Central, creating reports, and conducting research to support the work of my colleagues.
What difference do you make for the customers?
I make a difference for customers by being there when they face challenges that require extra support. As a consultant, I help them successfully complete their projects, get the technology working again, and dive into the more tricky areas to find clear and practical solutions. Customers should feel confident throughout the process, because we solve it together.
What does it mean to you to make a difference?
It means a lot to me to make a real difference for customers. I am passionate about being the one who gets things working and makes their everyday life easier. A “thank you for your help” email feels like little gold stars, confirming that my efforts are creating value.
