Nordic Solar chooses Matriks as its Business Central partner

Nordic Solar is a Danish solar energy company that develops, builds and operates solar parks in a number of European countries. The company covers the entire value chain, from development and investment to the operation of solar energy plants, with activities across Europe.

Approx. 140 companies across Europe require the right partner:

Nordic Solar operates across a wide range of European countries and manages around 140 companies in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

When Nordic Solar chose Matriks as its new Business Central partner, we took over responsibility for an extensive international ERP setup from the previous partner.

The complexity places high demands on both the platform and on us as a partner. Business Central must support common processes across companies while also handling local requirements in each country. With approx. 140 companies, there are also high demands on data quality, access management and the secure handling of financial data across companies and countries.

There is a particular focus on intercompany, consolidation, compliance, financial processes, data and data security, automation and user permissions.

“It has been important for us to have a partner who is close by and understands our needs. We find Matriks very present and solution-oriented – and they take responsibility for getting things all the way over the finish line.” says Niels Simonsen, Head of Finance Business Partnering, Nordic Solar A/S.

Some of the tasks Matriks works on:

  • Intercompany across companies – Matriks is optimising the intercompany processes so that transactions between the many companies can be handled more efficiently and in a more structured way.
  • Consolidation and reporting – Work is being done to strengthen and standardise the financial processes and create a better foundation for consolidation and reporting across companies and countries.
  • Compliance across Europe – Matriks helps Nordic Solar ensure that Business Central supports local requirements for VAT, tax and reporting, among other things, in the different countries.
  • Data and data security – With 140 companies across several countries, correct handling of data is essential. Matriks works with structure, data quality and security so that financial data is handled consistently and securely across companies and countries.
  • User permissions and access management – Matriks is structuring permissions and roles so that users have the access they need to the right companies, functions and data – while strengthening security, control and governance.
  • Standardisation and automation – Across the approx. 140 companies, Matriks continuously identifies opportunities to standardise workflows, reduce manual processes and make better use of the Business Central platform.

More than operations and support:

Matriks works closely with Nordic Solar to continuously develop and optimise Business Central. The goal is not just stable operations, but to proactively identify opportunities to standardise processes, reduce manual work and create better alignment across companies and countries.

“Matriks doesn’t only show up when we have a problem. They are proactive, challenge our current setup and continuously come up with concrete suggestions for how we can do things better and more efficiently.” Niels continues.
